Our world has become heavily reliant on power to make it work. Everything that we do, from heating our dwellings to operating our tools, energy is crucial. Back before we had power, the light we got came from fire burning lamps and our heat came from a wood furnace. Eventually, whole towns and cities could be lit up without any effort on our part.
When electricity initially showed up and the gadgets that ran on them, quite a few people could hardly believe in the practicality. If you take a look at today, we consume a great deal of electric power, we are running out of the fuel to help create it. We are currently being told that the non-renewable sources are used up and we have to find alternative sources for the energy we use. The best form of renewable energy is solar power and initiatives are being made to store this energy properly. Using a conventional method to store solar power could lead to an unnecessary use of water and other natural resources.
Solar powered energy may be stored in materials that come from natural resources in a process called thermal mass systems. Sustainable sources, such as dirt and water, along with man made resources like concrete, can be used to store the energy, even if only for a short time. Thermal mass can be utilized to heat such things as water in your house. These are good short-term solutions, but so far there are no long-term storage capabilities for solar powered energy. Using devices that belong to the thermo-chemical phase is yet another way to store heat. This approach employs various storage types such as Eutectic Salts and paraffin wax.
If you put paraffin wax inside a storage tank, the wax continues to be a solid while it is cold, but as soon as it is heated, it becomes a liquid which will keep its heat for some time. Paraffin wax has the ability to remain warm even when it turns hard and cools down. If you want to use something low-cost and still hold heat for extended periods is Eutectic Salts. Another effective way to save solar energy is by using Molten Salts, which will be used to produce steam. This happens as the salt mixture is heated up during the time the storage tank is heated up. The energy that is created may be saved in rechargeable batteries which can be used for later. The most common type of battery used for this type of storage is a lead acid battery.
There are a number of ways to keep natural energy, but up to now they aren't as practical or efficient as they need to be. As soon as we find an efficient way to save energy, we should be able to have an infinite supply of heat.
